SEO and GEO

Rankings on Google and visibility in the answers given by ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.

Web · also on existing projects

People searching for your service find one, just not yours. Or your site only appears when someone types the exact name of your business. Meanwhile, a growing number of people don’t even open Google any more: they ask ChatGPT directly or read the AI answer at the top of the results.

We work on both fronts. We fix the technical foundations of your site, build content that answers your customers’ real questions and make the information about you clear and consistent, so that both Google and AI assistants understand who you are, what you do and where.

When you need it

  • When you search for your service in your town, only competitors come up.
  • Your site gets visits, but from searches that don’t bring in customers.
  • You rebuilt your site and your Google traffic has dropped since.
  • You ask ChatGPT who offers your service locally and your name doesn’t come up.
  • You have been publishing articles for months without knowing whether they do anything.
  • Search Console reports errors you don’t know how to read.

How we work

  1. Audit. We manually check indexing (which pages Google knows about), speed, structure and content, and give you a list of problems in order of impact.
  2. Research. We gather the words and questions your customers actually use, starting from Search Console data and local searches.
  3. Technical fixes. We sort out titles, redirects, sitemaps, structured data and anything else that stops Google reading the site properly.
  4. Content. We rewrite your service pages and, where needed, create area pages and articles that answer specific questions.
  5. Local presence. We make your name, address and opening hours consistent across your site, Google Business Profile and directories.
  6. Measurement. Every month we send you a report with rankings, clicks and the next steps.

SEO and GEO: what changes with AI assistants

AI assistants don’t show ten results: they write an answer and cite a handful of sources. To be one of those sources, your site has to be easy for a machine to read too.

In practice we focus on three things. Clear answers: pages that say straight away what you do, where, for whom and on what terms, without beating about the bush. Structured data: schema.org code, an invisible label that describes your business, services, FAQs and reviews in a format machines understand. Consistency: the same information about you everywhere you appear, from your website to your Google Business Profile. We also add an llms.txt file, an index designed for AI assistants that summarises what they will find on the site.

The good news is that almost everything GEO needs also helps classic SEO. You don’t have to choose.

A real example

The Athena SCF website had 375 pages and 282 articles on WordPress. When we moved it to Astro we kept every address, so its Google rankings stayed intact. Site search, the sitemap and pages excluded from the index (noindex) are now managed from a single source, instead of being scattered across different plugins.

The Filippo Angeloni blog also moved from WordPress to Astro without changing the way posts are published.

Who it’s for

Local businesses that rely on nearby customers (restaurants, professional practices, shops, hotels and guesthouses), but also businesses selling across Italy or abroad that need content answering questions before people buy. If you don’t know where to start, the free audit tells you what problems you have and in what order to tackle them.

Frequently asked questions

What is GEO?

GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimisation: making sure AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity cite your website when they answer. It relies on clear, verifiable content, structured data and consistent information about your brand.

How long does it take to see SEO results?

The first technical improvements usually show within a few weeks; ranking for competitive searches generally takes 3 to 6 months of steady work.

How much does SEO cost?

It depends on the state of your site and how competitive your sector is. We start with an audit, then send you a written quote with the work and the cost month by month.

Can you guarantee me first place on Google?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google. What we can do is show you every month, with Search Console data, how your rankings, clicks and enquiries are changing.

Do I need to write blog articles?

Not always. For many local businesses, clear service pages, a Google Business Profile and area pages matter more. A blog is useful when your customers ask questions before buying and you want to be the one answering.

Can I do SEO if someone else built my site?

Yes. We start with an audit of the site as it is, and tell you what can be fixed without rebuilding it and what can't.
